The Samboja bowl is hand-decorated pottery from Bolesławiec with a softly waved rim that gives it the shape of a wide-open flower. The base of the bowl is filled with classic cobalt peacock eyes, arranged in a dense, regular rosette on a snow-white background. They are framed by a border of fine green sprigs and brown dots, with the whole design closed by a band of peacock eyes running along the wavy edge. Deep navy, white, green and brown create a combination that is recognisable at first glance.
Light, weighing just 0.35 kg, the bowl works beautifully as a serving bowl on the family table — for fresh salads, slaws and vegetables served with dinner. Fruit, nuts or nibbles for guests look just as good in it, and between meals it becomes a decorative bowl for a sideboard or windowsill.
